The Whites {family session}

I wasn’t planning on having this post ready until Tuesday, but since I finished it I thought I’d get it up so the White’s don’t have to wait a long weekend to see some of the pics. It has been a year since I last photographed this beautiful family. I was so excited when they chose to do the session at Philbrook Museum (I love that place). I could have shot there for hours, but I don’t think the kids would have been too excited about that. Their son was such the model for me - very handsome…love his hat. Their daughter is so beautiful, but wasn’t too into me having a camera in her face…poor girl woke up sick today. No wonder she wasn’t too happy last night! But, you can’t really tell in these she wasn’t happy!

God {running circles in my backyard}

I thought I’d share a funny Corbett (age 4) story since I really don’t post many things about my kids other than pictures. Lately he has really been into reminding us how big and strong God is. Everything relates back to God’s strength to him. Last night driving home he randomly looked out the window and said, “Mommy, if God came down to our yard He could run so fast in a circle, He’d make a tornado out of His dust.” “Well yes, Corbett, God could do that if He wanted to.” Never considered God running circles in my backyard before.

Kids are so great….I love their fresh perspective :)

I’m out {with my new camera}

Not much of a post today….Chris has been horribly sick all week so I am juggling the boys solo. I am hoping he gets better soon - our 7th wedding anniversary is on Monday! As an anniversary gift he got me a NEW CAMERA….I’ve been wanting it for a while. I can’t wait to put it to use over the long weekend. All you nerdy photog friends of mine, nope I’m not telling you what Canon model it is, you’ll have to see the pics first :)

So Happy Labor Day weekend. I’ll be out until Tuesday…all emails will be returned then!

A pretty accurate description of the current Campbells without using words.

Sutton {1 year birthday party}

This was the second birthday party I got to celebrate on Saturday. Sutton partied in carnival style…it was super cute. It was raining that morning then cleared up in time for carnival fun and swimming.

Here’s Sutton at 3 months

And onto his Carnival Party…

Check out that grin!

Corban {one year}

Corban is 1! I first met Corban in the hospital just a bit after he was born, hard to believe this handsome guy is already a year old. I had a fun time with his family as they celebrated his birthday…

a question for Sarah on explosive lava

Sarah, I was so excited that you had an idea for the lava to erupt (see comments on the last post). On our walk tonight I stopped by the gas station and picked up a box of strawberry mentos and a diet pepsi. When we got home I put the mentos in a bottle then added the pepsi….nothing. This is a pic of me shaking it to see if that would help…what am I missing?

DIY {volcano}

Corb recently became very interested in volcanoes, so I thought it would be fun to make one. We used a bowl as the base shape, covered it in plastic wrap, then paper mached it. Once the paper mache was dry the boys painted it. After the paint dried, I put a few coats of Mod Podge on it so it would last longer for lots of eruptions. We used a water bottle for the “lava” container. To make the lava I put baking soda, a bit of dish soap and red food coloring in the bottle. Then to make it “erupt” we poured in vinegar. It was a fun process, but Corbett was a bit disappointed that the lava poured out instead of exploding into the trees. He was hoping for a REALLY big eruption…a bit of let down, but he still plays with it nonetheless. Oh yea, before the initial eruption he had to put all the dinosaurs around the volcano because evidently that is how all the dinosaurs died….

Guess who found his feet…and is quite fond of them!

Kolbi {1 year}

It really is so much fun to watch babies grow during their first year…it is also fun to watch the parents change and adapt from the newborn stage to active one-year olds. I wasn’t sure if we were going to have to reschedule due to rain, but it turned out perfect. The light coming through the clouds was awesome and the rain cooled things down. This precious girl has some amazing eyes…if you watch the slideshow at the top of the blog that is her in the hat (black & white picture) from her 6 month session.

Kolbi at 3 weeks

And here she is now…1 year later

Her mom was hoping for a feet in the grass pic…I love that Kolbi is on the move in this. She’ll be walking in no time.

The rain had made the freshly cut grass pretty wet and sticky. I really wanted to some shots not on the blanket and thankfully her parents didn’t mind a bit if she got messy. This “out take” picture was taken half-way through the session….she cleaned up great and we finished things up looking cute and clean!

Afton {3 months}

My little Afton is 3 months old! Well technically speaking she isn’t mine, but I sure love her!
